Create a Free Wifi Hotspot on your Laptop or Desktop WITHOUT Router!!!!!
Do you own a smartphone or a tablet? then you would surely look forward to buy a new WiFi router.
but as an average man, you don't want to spend your hard earned money on buying a new router for that purpose (or you would simply want to steal others WiFi ) there is absolutely no need to do it.
You can obviously create a hotspot on your android phone ( if your phone supports ) but you would always wanted to take the advantage of your desktops internet.
In this article learn how to create a free WiFi hotspot without router in your home or work place.
but how to do it? I've already told you before, there is an app for every need (plenty actually).
Note : To follow this tutorial, you need to have a WiFi adapter (most laptops have it already) if you are using a desktop , buy a cheap USB adapter they work pretty well
For those who don't know what WiFi adapter is, its a hardware (normally built-in in laptops) to connect to WiFi networks see screenshots below
To check whether you have WiFi adapter or not, right click on My Computer > Manage >Device Manager
If you see something like this, you have it
But if you see something like this, you don't so go out and buy a new one.
There are ways to do it manually too.. but i recommend using these applications
Connectify:
For this incredibly amazing software you need to pay.. (or pirate it :D)
the feature that got me was the dispatch
Connectify hotspot pro comes with a dispatch feature which means you can merge multiple internet connections (WiFi,LAN etc.,) into a single connection which gives your internet even awesome speeds
Dispatch Feature:
Suppose you have an internet connection, and your neighbors have WiFi router you can simply open this dispatch to merge those multiple connections
For example, you have an internet LAN or Dial-up connection (lets say 2mbps) your neighbor has internet connection with WiFi and he shares it with you ( may be 5mbps) when are downloading a file, you may get a transfer rate upto 200-400 kbps. On your neighbor's network, you may get 500-900+ (lets say) when you use dispatch, you will be getting 2mbps+5mbps and transfer rate upto 1800kbps...
Besides creating hotspots,dispatches, you can also use connectify as WiFi passer
i.e., You have a powerful WiFi adapter (in your lap or PC) and your mobile or tablet were unable to connect to that particular network due to low signal.
you can simply pass the WiFi on to your mobile or tablet using connectify.
see its that simple..

To Create a WiFi Hotspot you will need a WiFi adapter (this is must)
Fill up the fields, and click on Start Hotspot
Select which internet to share.Select dispatch if you want to merge several connections or simply select your internet connection (in my case it is Intel Gigabyte Network Connections)
There are also freeware softwares like Connectify but not as quite good

The only feature what makes this software incomplete is the missing dispatch and WiFi pass feature
the user interface ( UI ) is quite similar to that of connectify

If still no success, there may be a problem with your adapter re-install device drivers or your adapter may not be supported (sorry).
