How to view websites in mobile/ipad or any other format from your laptop or desktop

Have you ever wondered if you could open your favorite site in your desktop or laptop that you regularly visit from your iphone, ipad or even android in the format that you see from your device? Have you ever wanted to visit a website that runs best on boring internet explorer and you don't want to switch from chrome for that purpose?

Well, heres the answer.. and the best part it is very simple too... :)

Stuff Required:
1)Chrome, (also works on Mozilla Firefox)
2)Desktop or Laptop

That's it you're ready to surf...
oops here's how to:

1)Go to Chrome Web Store and download User-Agent Switcher for Chrome (see screenshot below)

2)Click the +  FREE button and then click add to chrome

3)You have successfully added the extension to chrome

To open the UA Switcher, simply click on the new extension icon that have been created on the top right of your browser (see the screenshot above)

To spoof the user agents,

1) Click the extension, you will see a drop down menu showing a list of available spoofs (screenshot below):

2) Select the spoof that suits you best (that's right you can also spoof Firefox,Opera in chrome cool, isn't it?)

3) By clicking, you have successfully switched to your desired format you will see a small notification indicating the spoof is applied

Here's an example showing what facebook looks like on chrome after spoofing in iphone 4 format:

cool, right? similarly you can open websites that are meant to open on mobiles such as wap.in and enjoy downloads on your desktop!!

see how wapin looks on chrome ( i have used windows phone spoof in this case) :

To get back to default chrome layout just select chrome>default on the Chrome UA Spoofer

Happy browsing!!

I just cant get enough i want more!! after all i am on starvingtech :-p

While the spoof profiles given in the extension are more than enough for most of the users out there, but you can add custom strings (profiles ) too

all you need to do is visit this website here

it provides all (almost) the browsers available out there

1) Select your desired profile (I have selected BOLT browser which was my favorite for mobile which was discontinued later not to worry UA switcher here to the rescue)

2)Select the string which suits you most depending on the version and so on..

3)Copy the string you'd like to spoof

4)Open chrome>preferences>Settings>Extensions navigate to UA switcher for chrome and click options

5)Paste the string and fill up the required field and cllick "ADD"

6)Select your newly created profile and refresh your page (this is what i got, woo-hoo success):

Still cant figure out?
